UMassOnline , the University of Massachusetts’ Shrewsbury-based online learning division, broke its enrollment and revenue records of last year, according to school officials.
In fiscal year 2008, its enrollment increased to 33,900, a 26.2 percent over last year, and revenue increased to $36.9 million, a 31.9 percent jump over last year. In fiscal year 2007, the division enrolled 26,855 students and brought in $28 million in revenue.
UMassOnline’s enrollment grew more than twice as fast as the 9.7 percent national average growth rate in online college-level programs, according to school officials.
The online division offers 80 undergraduate and graduate degree, certificate and professional development programs and more than 1,500 courses.
