Hospitals and colleges lead a list of the industries, which had the most active online job postings in September, according to the Massachusetts Department of Economic Research. Two Central Massachusetts companies are among the employers with the most job postings.
In Central Massachusetts, UMass Memorial Health in Worcester and Framingham-based retailer TJX are sixth and ninth respectively on a statewide list of the employers with the most job postings: UMass Memorial with 1,275 postings and TJX with 922. Mass General Brigham in Boston had the most job postings in September with 4,160.
UMass Memorial is the largest employer in Central Massachusetts, with 16,352 employees. TJX is 36th with 1,000 employees in Central Massachusetts and 340,000 worldwide, according to the WBJ Research Department.
General medical and surgical hospitals and colleges, universities, and professional schools were the top two industries hiring with 11,263 and 8,667 job postings respectively.
The most in-demand job in Massachusetts is registered nurse with 5,914 postings in September. Retailers are gearing up for the holiday season, posting 4,903 jobs for associates and 3,465 postings for store supervisory positions.
