Justin Precourt has been named as the new chief nursing officer at UMass Memorial Medical Center.
Precourt joins UMass from Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, where he was the associate chief nursing officer and interim chief nursing officer. He has held various nursing leadership and staff nursing roles at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, including serving as the nursing director of cardiac surgery and renal transplantation at the Brigham's Shapiro Cardiovascular Center.
Precourt has a bachelor's degree in nursing from Northeastern University and a master's degree in nursing from Saint Joseph's College in Maine.
UMass announced his appointment Monday.
Precourt replaces Paulette Seymour-Route, who held the interim chief nursing officer role for the past year. The role was previously held by Lisa Colombo, who last July was named the executive vice chancellor for Commonwealth Medicine, part of the UMass Medical School.
