The president and CEO of UMass Memorial – Marlborough Hospital has been named the interim leader for HealthAlliance – Clinton Hospital, the health system said Thursday.

The appointment of Steve Roach comes two days after the announced departure of HealthAlliance – Clinton Hospital president Deborah Weymouth. Weymouth led the Clinton, Fitchburg and Leominster campuses of HealthAlliance since 2014.
Roach will continue with his duties leading Marlborough Hospital while filling in on an interim basis at HealthAlliance starting Sept. 30, working with Weymouth through the transition process, UMass said. He has been Marlborough Hospital’s president and CEO since 2013. He was previously the CEO of Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer for seven years.
Roach’s administrative roles include work as a senior financial analyst at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, and director of financial and strategic planning at Emerson Hospital in Concord. He has an MBA from Bentley College and a bachelor’s degree in health management and policy from the University of New Hampshire.
Weymouth is leaving HealthAlliance for a position outside the system, UMass said.
