Worcester’s UMass Memorial Medical Center has been ranked as the fourth best hospital in Massachusetts by the U.S. News and World Report.
The UMass Memorial Health-operated hospital ranked behind Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, all in Boston. Rounding out the top five is Tufts Medical Center, also in Boston, according to the U.S. News ranking released Aug. 1.
Brigham and Women’s and Mass. General made the ranking’s Honor Roll list of best hospitals in the country, two of 22 total listed.
UMass Memorial Medical Center is an 818-bed facility with 7,575 employees, according to information compiled by the WBJ Research Department. Its 2022 revenue was $2.08 billion, and it employs 2,574 registered nurses and 1,257 active physicians.
