UMass Medical School in Worcester announced on Wednesday it plans to require that all faculty, staff and students receive the COVID-19 vaccine by Sept. 7, after which those who are noncompliant will have their ID badge deactivated.
Those who have not received at least one dose of the vaccine by that time may potentially be fired or face other ramifications.
The vaccine requirement for employees, the school said, aligns with a vaccination requirement already in place for students. The requirement will apply to all vendors and visitors on campus, as well as UMass Medical employees who work remotely or in a hybrid model.
The school said it would consider medical and religious accommodations as needed.
In its announcement UMass Medical said all faculty, staff and students will still be required to follow campus COVID-19 regulations, regardless of vaccination status, including masking indoors and participating in what the school called surveillance testing for those who come to campus.
So, say I have paid UMass hundreds of thousands of dollars to go to medical school for three years, unless I agree to an experimental medical procedure, I will lose all that money? Is this United States or Communist China? What ever happened to free choice? What ever happened to it's my body and therefore my choice?
This has got to be illegal, it is certainly immoral!
