UMass Medical School kicks off $250M fundraising campaign

The public phase of a $250 million fundraising campaign for Worcester’s UMass Medical School began last week.

The quiet phase of the campaign began in July 2012 and has already exceeded $150 million in gifts and pledges from individuals, corporations and foundations, according to the school. The funds from the campaign, Pathways of Promise, will be used to support the school’s missions of research, teaching and focus on global health.

The funds have already been used to support faculty research as well as respond to the Ebola crisis in Liberia in 2014.
