UMass Med School group to advise NJ firm on workflow platform

The Clinical Pharmacy Services division of UMass Medical School will partner with a major contracting and service organization to provide guidance on the company's clinical software platform for specialty pharmacists, the medical school announced Tuesday.

Armada Health Care, a New Jersey-based company, will work with a team of 60 clinical pharmacists to enhance clinical interventions and patient outreach modules within its ArmadaOne Specialty Pharmacy Workflow Platform, according to a statement. The platform is already available to consumers.

“Their expertise and connectivity to infectious disease specialists, physicians, drug utilization review boards, practitioners and other stakeholders add incredible value to the platform’s functionality and clinical foundation,” Armada’s CEO, Lawrence Irene, RPh, said.

The UMass Medical School’s Clinical Pharmacy Services division has become a “sought-after partner” for organizations such as Armada that seek to containing pharmacy costs and improving patient outcomes, the medical school said.
