UMass emergency medicine specialist Peter Paige has been named chair of the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine.
Paige is vice chair of emergency medicine at UMass Memorial Medical Center and clinical associate professor of emergency medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
Paige has served on the board since 2006 and was recently appointed to a second three-year term by Gov. Deval Patrick. He also serves on the board’s complaint committee.
The board licenses more than 38,000 doctors, osteopaths and acupuncturists.
