Researchers at UMass Chan Medical School in Worcester are beginning phase II clinical trials of the Moderna COVID-19 booster shots in adults, according to an announcement from the school’s website Wednesday.Â
The study in question, which is scheduled to begin Monday, will look at different formulations and doses of the booster. One group will receive the standard Moderna booster, while other groups will receive different formulations and doses.
Participants in the study will be followed for one year. Some 420 participants are expected nationwide across 13 sites, per UMass Chan.
This study is separate from others conducted at the school, which looked at booster safety and efficacy.
