Two new Main Street businesses -- one recently opened and one forthcoming -- were each granted a $10,000 grant from the Town of Webster, as well as a $10,000 refundable tax credit from the state, the Massachusetts Economic Assistance Coordinating Council announced on Monday.
The two businesses are Mike’s Crunchies & Munchies, which opened its pizza, sandwich and wings restaurant on May 19, and the forthcoming Wine Studio 51, a self-serve wine bar and brick-oven pizza spot.
They join a series of recently opened shops in downtown Webster, part of a concerted effort led in part by Town Administrator Doug Willardson, who has made revitalizing the waning downtown and returning it to a walkable, family-friendly destination one of his key focuses.
Other newly opened or expanded businesses in downtown Webster include restaurants Monte Bianco, Stave & Still, Caribbean Grill & Market, The Rose Room Cafe and Tonic Bar, and The CBD Farmstand.
