The more than 30-acre Twin City Shopping Center off of Route 2 on the Fitchburg-Leominster border has been sold to a Boston investment firm for $24 million.
Twin Cities Plaza Owner LLC, registered to Boston-based Long Wharf Capital, purchased the plaza on Thursday, according to the Worcester Northern District Registry of Deeds.
Long Wharf Capital owns real estate across the country and across multiple sectors, according to the company’s website. The firm’s full list of investments is available to qualified investors only. The company did not return a request for comment on Friday.
The seller was an affiliate of Geronimo Commercial Properties of Leominster. Geronimo operates several retail plazas in North Central Massachusetts including Johnny Appleseed Plaza in Leominster, and the Two & Twelve Shopping Center in Leominster.
Twin City Shopping Center is home to a Hannaford supermarket, and a Bob’s Stores Footwear & Apparel, among other retailers, offices and restaurants. The is one large anchor location that is vacant and available for lease, according to a sign on the building.
Sections of the plaza were not included in the transaction, as they are owned by other parties, according to City of Leominster and City of Fitchburg Property Records.
