Littleton electrical equipment testing lab TUV Rheinland has been accepted into an international organization to test medical and electrical product safety.
The company is now able to operate in the International Electrotechnical Commission’s System of Conformity Assessment Schemes for Electrotechnical Equipment and Components.
With the new certification, the company’s Littleton-based lab will boost the company’s eastern U.S. testing capabilities, providing customers with faster turnaround times for medical and electrical devices by reducing trade barriers and enabling global market access, the company said Thursday.
The company’s Newtown, Conn. lab already has that certification. With the addition of the Littleton lab, the company can cut down on project times and eliminate shipments to other labs across the country.
Uwe Meyer, the company’s business field manager of medical testing, said the certification solidifies TUV Rheinland as a relevant test house for medical device testing on the East Coast.
“Our customers require proximity to their testing labs, and this announcement demonstrates our responsiveness to their needs as well as our commitment to building long-term relationships with our customers that support sustainable growth for the future,” Meyer said.
