Watertown-based Tufts Health Plan, which has offices in Downtown Worcester, has appointed two new executives to the senior management team, according to a press release issued Wednesday.
Jean Yang, the former executive director of the Massachusetts Health Connector Insurance Authority, the state health insurance exchange, was appointed president of public plans. She will lead operations for Tufts Health Public Plans, Inc., the company’s Medicaid managed care and state-sponsored plans division.
Yang’s appointment represents her return to Tufts Health Plan, where she once served on the contracting, strategy and analytics team. She most recently served as the executive director of the Children’s Hospital Integrated Care Organization, a group representing Children’s Hospital Boston and its affiliated physicians.
Meanwhile, Kristin Lewis has been promoted to senior vice president of public affairs and will lead the organization’s public policy, government and public affairs functions. Lewis has been at Tufts Health Plan for more than 20 years. She guides the company on the impact of political changes and public relations on the company’s strategic goals and business agenda.
