Charlton craft beer maker Tree House Brewing Co. was one of the country’s fastest-growing breweries last year, according to a new report from a national beer group.
A list of the 50 fastest-growing craft breweries from the Brewers Association had Tree House at No. 45.
The brewery had its first full year at its 52,000-square-foot brewery in Charlton opened in summer 2017. Long lines and many out-of-state license plates were a common sight at the facility, the only place the brewery sells its beer.Â
This year’s list — the second year it’s been published — marks the first time Tree House has found itself on the list despite critical acclaim from beer-rating websites, like BeerAdvocate and Untappd.Â
A brewery representative could not be reached for comment.
Tree House is expanding its Charlton brewery by 30 percent and in February purchased a farm in Connecticut for $1.6 million to begin a cider program. Its Monson facility, where the brewery made its name, is now being used to barrel age some unidentified beverages, the brewery said in a blog post last month.
The only other Massachusetts brewery to make this year’s list was Newton-based Hopsters, which came in at No. 15.
Last year, Milford’s CraftRoots Brewing Co. found itself at the top of the list.
