Tree House Brewing, the high-profile, Charlton-based craft brewery that foregoes traditional beer distribution channels in favor of self-distribution, has made it a little easier for Greater Boston residents to get their hands on its brews by opening a retail storefront and curbside pick-up spot at The Prudential Center.
Tree House customers are now able to purchase cans to-go from a storefront on the retail level of the building or pick up pre-ordered cans at a special designated location inside the building’s parking garage.
The new Boston location, announced in an Instagram post on Saturday, is an expansion of Tree House’s presence at The Prudential Center, as the company has been operating a Thursday pop-up beer garden at the site since August. The brewery is now expanding its Boston beer garden operations to Friday and Saturday, with further expansions of operating hours in the works.
Tree House’s Prudential Center location joins spots in Charlton, Deerfield, Tewksbury, Sandwich, and Woodstock, Connecticut as places where the brewery’s beer can be purchased. The company is working toward opening a brewery and taproom in Saratoga Springs, New York.
Tree House was founded in 2011 by Nate Lanier, Dean Rohan, and Damien Goudreau; the trio got their start experimenting with brewing in a small barn in Brimfield.
The company remains a non-distributing brewery, meaning its products are only available for purchase on site at its locations.
Tree House is the second-largest brewery in Central Massachusetts behind Framingham-based Jack’s Abby Brewing, having produced 39,172 barrels of beer (1.21 million gallons) in 2023, according to data provided to the WBJ Research Department.
