Transit Authority narrows field for admin post

The Worcester Regional Transit Authority’s personnel committee is down to three finalists, one of whom is from Worcester, for the position WRTA administrator.

The personnel committee is expected to name a single finalist March 1. In the meantime, Richard J. Glavin, the authority’s public affairs and governmental relations director, is interim administrator.

The administrator’s position opened when former administrator Mary MacInnes left to join the Pioneer Valley Transit Authority as its administrator. MacInnes was WRTA administrator for six years.

Out of 26 applicants for the job, the personnel committee chose three finalists: Stephen F. O’Neil of Worcester, Michael L. Abegg of Minneapolis, Minn., and Carla Lakatos of Dayton, Ohio.
