National alcohol retailer Total Wine & More, which opened a store in Shrewsbury in February, is launching a campaign it hopes will lead to changes in Massachusetts’ liquor sale laws.
State laws not only prohibit customers from taking advantage of coupon and customer loyalty programs at alcohol retailers, but they also prevent retailers from passing on cost savings from bulk orders to customers, according to a release from Total Wine. The company is looking to change that through its new information and advocacy campaign.
Total Wine created a website and social media presence for its “Consumers First” campaign. The website, massconsumersfirst.com, includes white papers submitted to the state Alcohol Task Force on cumulative quality discounts and the use of coupons for alcohol purchases. Visitors can sign up for updates via a website form.
By the end of 2017, Total Wine will have over 170 stores in 20 states.
