Too tired for work

A lack of sleep is making workers cranky and worse at their jobs, claims a new survey from the Better Sleep Council, a trade group for mattress makers. Forty-four percent of those surveyed said they’re moodier because of sleep deprivation, bad news for employers, the group said. Studies cited by the Better Sleep Council claim that over-tired workers cost U.S. businesses $150 billion in lost productivity and absenteeism each year, and force workers to drink coffee, take naps or long breaks to compensate.
