A priority for both appointees is the continuation of Green’s work to achieve National Cancer Institute designation for the UMass Cancer Center, where Green was director.

Dr. Jonathan Gerber will serve as director of the UMass Cancer Center, and Michelle Kelliher will be interim chair of the department of molecular, cell and cancer biology, according to a March 1 announcement from UMass Chan.
