TJX Cos. of Framingham reported that October sales hit $1.7 billion, a 15 percent increase over the $1.5 billion reported at the same time last year.
Sales for the 2009 fiscal year to date reached $14.3 billion, a 5 percent increase from the $13.6 billion reported at this time last year.
Same store sales for the four-week period ended October 31, 2009 were up 10 percent from the same time last year and third quarter same store sales were up 7 percent from last year.
TJX operates T.J. Maxx, HomeGoods and other discount retail outlets.
