Comparable store sales for the TJX Cos. Inc. of Framingham rose 2 percent in January, and the company raised its fourth-quarter and full-year outlook.
Total sales for the four-week period ended Jan. 29 totaled $1.35 billion, up 8 percent from the same period last year. For the full year ended Jan. 29, the company had $22.1 billion in sales, up 9 percent from 2010. Comparable-store sales rose 4 percent for the year.
TJX raised its fourth-quarter outlook, saying adjusted earnings per share will be slightly higher than the $0.97 to $1.01 range it had previously predicted, and full-year earnings will rise correspondingly.
