Framingham retailer TJX Cos. has issued a recall of a heating pad that can overheat and cause fires or burns.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, about 5,600 of the animal-themed sequined heating pads were sold in T.J. Maxx and Marshalls stores the U.S., and about 3,600 were sold in Canada for $13. The product is called the Aroma Home USB Heated Hottie heating pads. They are charged via a USB port.
The products, which were made in China, can be returned to any T.J. Maxx or Marshalls store for a full refund.
The recall was voluntarily initiated by TJX under CPSC’s Fast Track Recall process.
