Framingham-based discount retailer TJX Cos. Inc. said third quarter sales increased 5 percent to $5.5 billion as profits hit $372 million.
The company reported a profit of $348 million for the same quarter a year ago.
Same-store sales increased 1 percent.
For the first nine months of the year, sales were $15.6 billion, a 9-percent increase over the prior year, and same-store sales increased 4 percent.
Profits for the first nine months of the year hit $1 billion.
