The TJX Companies in Framingham announced today that Carol Meyrowitz will become the firm's new CEO, replacing Ben Cammarata who served as interim CEO from September 2005 through January of this year.
The Board of Directors elected Ms. Meyrowitz, who has served as president of TJX since October of 2005, after previously indicating the decision on September 7, 2006. Cammarata will continue to serve as chairman of the board, and Ms. Meyrowitz will retain her position on the company's board of directors.
"We will remain focused on the strong fundamentals of our business, offering our customers great value, while we explore new ideas and avenues through which to capitalize upon them," said Meyrowitz. "I am extremely optimistic about TJX's ability to continue the momentum we have built and the strong performance we have achieved over the last year, for many more years to come."
