Framingham retail parent TJX Cos. will require all its headquarters and regional office employees be vaccinated against COVID-19 before Nov. 1 deadline, according to a written statement provided to the WBJ on Thursday.
The vaccine mandate does not apply to the in-store workers of any of its brands, including TJ Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods.
“As we continue to monitor the evolution of the COVID-19 situation, we are committed to adjusting our health and safety protocols based on what we believe is in the best interest of our associates and our company," said Andrew Mastrangelo, assistant vice president, global communications of TJX, in a written statement. "We believe this is an important way to help protect our associates as we return to our offices this fall,”
The company will allow for medical and religious exemptions.
Boston Business Journal first reported the TJX vaccine mandate news.
TJX is the latest company in a series of Central Massachusetts businesses, including UMass Memorial Health, UMass Medical School, the College of the Holy Cross, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and Clark University, to implement staff vaccine mandates citing increasing coronavirus cases and Delta variant concerns.
