Framingham-based retail parent TJX Cos. has purchased two office parcels on Framingham’s Speen Street for $24.3 million.
The properties are located at 3 and 5 Speen St., near the Natick Mall and Massachusetts Turnpike and less than a thousand feet from the entrance to the company’s global headquarters at 770 Cochituate Road. The two properties are adjacent to 550 Cochituate Road, which TJX purchased for $120 million in 2019.
Kate Noonan, manager of global communications for TJX, said in an email to WBJ the purchase will further connect the company’s presence in and around its Framingham campus.
The 8.5-acre property at 5 Speen St. contains a 82,147-square-foot office building, while the 6-acre property at 3 Speen St. contains a 73,924-square foot office building. Both buildings are four stories and were constructed in 1981, according to City of Framingham property records.
TJX purchased the properties from Five Speen LLC and Three Speen LLC, two entities managed by Westborough-based Carruth Capital. Carruth acquired the two properties for $23.75 million in August 2000.
The properties were given a combined tax assessment value of $24 million for 2025, according to the City of Framingham.
A Fortune 100 company, TJX has approximately 349,000 employees worldwide, with 5,000 stores in nine countries operating under brand names like TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and Home Goods, according to its website.
