Central Massachusetts corporate giants TJX Cos., Boston Scientific and Waters Corp. are among the country's 250 best-run companies, according the Drucker Institute.
The California management firm's annual list released this month includes other firms with a major presence in Central Massachusetts, including the drugmaker AbbVie (No. 50), which has a facility in Worcester, Dell Technologies (No. 122), which owns EMC of Hopkinton, and Bristol-Myers Squibb (No. 76), which has a facility in Devens.
TJX, which has its headquarters in Framingham and Marlborough, ranked 72nd. Marlborough's Boston Scientific was 98th, and Milford's Waters Corp. was 220th.
Other Massachusetts companies also made the list, including Boston's General Electric (No. 18), Waltham's Raytheon (No. 79), Norwood's Analog Devices (No. 139), and Boston's Vertex Pharmaceuticals (No. 195).
The Drucker Institute's list weighs companies based on customer satisfaction, employee engagement and development, innovation, social responsibility and financial strength. In all, 37 data inputs are provided by 15 third-party sources.
Apple topped this year's list, followed by Amazon and Microsoft.
