Tiny BSX Stent Gets FDA Approval

Natick-based Boston Scientific has received approval from the FDA to market its Promus brand stent system in vessels as small as 2.25 millimeters in diameter.
Boston Scientific plans to begin marketing the product immediately in the United States.
The Promus line of stents is now available to doctors in diameters ranging from 2.25 millimeters to 4 millimeters.
Abbott Laboratories manufactures Promus stents, which are then distributed by Boston Scientific.
