Timothy Jarry, College of the Holy Cross Class of 2000, has been named the college’s chief investment officer, which includes handling endowment and retirement plans. Previously a CPA based in Worcester, Jarry has been working in a number of positions at the college for the past seven years, including three years as associate chief investment officer.

Q: How are you settling in at your new office?
A: I’ve been working in the office for the past seven years so the transition has been fairly smooth.
Q: What challenges do you see in your new position?
A: The investment markets present an ever-changing challenge. Our goal is, and always has been, to help provide the financial resources necessary to realize the mission of the college.
Q: What’s your favorite thing about Central Massachusetts?
A: Having grown up in Holden and a resident of Shrewsbury, I find Central Massachusetts to be a wonderful place to raise a family. The area is filled with great people and a wide variety of things to do.
Q: How close is this to what you imagined in high school you’d end up doing?
A: In high school I was fairly certain that I’d become a professional musician, so not too close.
Q: How far is your commute to the office?
A: Less than 10 minutes.
Q: What’s the best way to keep your energy and motivation up when you’re having a long day?
A: Plenty of coffee.
Q: Where’s the best place to get lunch near your new location?
A: On campus – Holy Cross Dining Services does a great job.
Q: Do you have any hobbies outside of work?
A: Golf and running, although most of my free time is spent with my wife and kids.
Q: What’s on your to-do list for the next couple of days?
A: I’ll be in the office hoping the market continues to perform like it did in December.
