Times February ad revenue slips

The New York Times Co., which owns the Worcester Telegram & Gazette, said February advertising revenue for its New England Media Group fell 4 percent compared to February of last year.

The company said February advertising revenue from continuing operations decreased 6 percent, and total company revenue decreased 3.6 percent compared to February 2006.

February ad revenue fell 7.5 percent at the New York Times Media Group, and 8.1 percent at the company’s Regional Media Group.

Internet ad revenue for the media groups rose 14 percent in February.
