Thrive Support & Advocacy, a Marlborough-based nonprofit offering human services to individuals with developmental disabilities, has bolstered its board of directors with three new members, electing Amy Reardon Doherty, Mary Ellen Duggan, and Stephen Maintanis to two-year terms.
“Amy, Mary Ellen and Stephen bring rich and diverse work experience and varied professional capabilities to our board,” Thrive President and CEO Sean Rose said in a Tuesday press release. “They also bring a tremendous amount of passion for our mission and the individuals who we serve. We are fortunate to have them.”
Doherty serves as chief legal officer, corporate secretary at Web Industries, a Marlborough-based manufacturing firm. Prior to assuming her current role, Doherty worked for nearly a decade as assistant general counsel and director at Bose Corp., an audio equipment manufacturer, headquartered in Framingham.
She graduated with her bachelor’s degree in political science from Tufts University, based in Medford, and earned her juris doctor degree from Northeastern University School of Law in Boston.
Duggan serves as the school nurse leader, wellness coordinator, and homeless liaison for the Public Schools of Northborough and Southborough. She previously worked as a pediatric nurse at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester for 20 years.
Duggan earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Fitchburg State University and graduated with her master’s in education from Cambridge College in Boston.
Maintanis serves as the senior vice president, commercial lending team leader at Main Street Bank, headquartered in Marlborough. He has also worked as assistant vice president, portfolio manager at United Bank in Worcester.
He graduated with his bachelor’s degree in sociology and a minor in psychology from Framingham State University.
All three of Thrive’s latest appointments are filling new positions on board.
Founded in 1973, Thrive Support & Advocacy serves more than 1,200 individuals and families throughout the Worcester County and Middlesex West regions, according to the release. The nonprofit offers services including social groups, adult companion and respite support, and sports and recreation activities.
