Waltham-based Thermo Fisher Scientific, which has operations in Central Massachusetts, reported an annual profit of $850.3 million, a 13 percent decline from the same period a year earlier.
Revenues for 2009 totaled $10.1 billion, 3.7 percent less than revenues in 2008.
However, the company’s revenue rallied during the fourth quarter, increasing 7 percent year-over-year thanks in part to favorable currency translation and acquisitions. But quarterly profit was down 4.7 percent.
The company is projecting revenue growth between 5 and 7 percent in 2010 with earnings per share growth in the range of 8 to 13 percent.
Thermo Fisher makes analytical instruments, laboratory equipment, software, services, consumables and reagents. It has operations in Franklin and also owns Athena Diagnostics in Worcester.
