Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. has entered into an agreement to buy Australian life science equipment company Biolab for about $120 million.
The company, which is based in Waltham and has operations in Central Massachusetts, said the acquisition will strengthen its presence in Australia and New Zealand.
Biolab, a 150-year-old company, sells analytical instruments, life science consumables and laboratory equipment.
Thermo Fisher said it expects to complete the transaction on April 30.
