The Sundown, a new bar owned by Sean Woods, co-owner of the deadhorse hill restaurant in Worcester, will open Friday at 34 Green St. in Worcester, the former site of the Dive Bar, said Woods.
The new bar will have a soft opening at 6 p.m. Friday.. It will be open seven days a week from 6 p.m. to close.
There will be a food truck on the patio and live music will be announced in the future.
The Dive Bar closed in 2019 after 25 years. It was owned by Alec Lopez and Sherri Sadowski, the owners of Worcester restaurant Armsby Abbey.
Like Armsby Abbey, the Dive Bar was well known for its well-curated selection of craft beers. In its time in the Canal District neighborhood, it played a significant role in attracting people and other businesses to make the neighborhood into a cultural hub.
