SHERRI GREENE PITCHER
Vice president of business development
Fidelity Bank, Worcester
Residence: Worcester
College: Fairfield University in Connecticut
When Fidelity Bank in Fitchburg decided a year ago it wanted to expand its presence in Worcester, the bank tabbed Pitcher – then the senior director of business development for the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce – to make all the economic and community connections necessary to turn the expansion into a success. Now, the bank is on the verge of opening its second full-service Worcester branch, this one in downtown after debuting the first on Shrewsbury Street. While Pitcher makes an impact from her countless connections and involvement in the community, her true talent lies in the understanding of how these business connections come together and developments grow from concept to reality, having been on the influential Economic Development Coordinating Council with city and business officials. She is a longtime member of the United Way’s Women’s Initiative and serves on boards for organizations like Family Services of Central Massachusetts Board, the EcoTarium, the Worcester Community Action Council, the Hanover Theatre and the Worcester Art Museum.
What advice would you give up-and-comers? Care about yourself, care about others, care about your community. Be kind. Be sincere. Get involved.
That’s 157 miles: I have run in six marathons. I have run Boston twice, Houston, San Francisco, Burlington, Vt., and Chicago. None of my finishing times were fast, but I finished them all!
