The Phoenix reports Q3 earnings

Incomes have remained stable at The Phoenix Cos. in Hartford. The company reported a net income of $35.6 million in the third quarter of 2007, up from $34.3 million the previous year. The financial planning and insurance institution reported a mild dip in operating income at $34.2 million this quarter, down from $37.7 million in Q3 of last year. Phoenix also reported a slight drop in the life and annuity pre-tax operating income to $49.7 million this year from $57.2 million at the same time last year.
