Unum finalizes its lease with the new developer of CitySquare.

March 2010

Worcester-based Hanover Insurance Group steps in and takes over the project from Berkeley Investments and names Leggat McCall Properties the developer.

April 2009

Insurer Unum announces its intention to lease 190,000 square feet at CitySquare for a new Worcester headquarters.

May 2008

State reduces the amount of space needed to be leased to 140,000 square feet before $25 million public funds can be released for demolition.

January 2007

Flagship Bank extends its lease at CitySquare.

June 2007

Worcester Registry of Deeds moves to CitySquare.

November 2006

Berkeley announces lease with Portland, Ore.-based Hollywood Theaters.

July 2005

Berkeley announces leases with Subway, CVS and the YMCA Center for Child Development.

The City of Worcester and Berkeley Investments sign a development agreement for the $563 million CitySquare project.

Berkeley Investments of Boston purchases the Worcester Common Outlets from Cigna Investment Inc. for $30.4 million.
