Worcester insurance agency Handy-Apple Valley Insurance Agency has been acquired by Virginia-based The Hilb Group.
The firm, located on Park Avenue, will join Richmond-based The Hilb Group’s New England operations within its existing Worcester location.
Handy-Apple Valley is at least the fourth Central Massachusetts insurance agency and the third in Worcester to be acquired by The Hilb Group since 2017. Mid-state Insurance Agency of Worcester, DBR Group of Framingham and Marsh-Kemp Insurance Agency of Worcester were acquired in 2017, 2018 and 2019, respectively.
The HilB Group has undertaken a strategy of rapid expansion via acquisitions and how controls more than 80 offices in 20 states.
