The departure of The Hartford’s COO has set off a game of musical chairs at the company’s highest levels. Seven key executives – including chairman and CEO Ramani Ayer – today switched their titles and lines of authority. Ayer relinquished his title as president to newly promoted COO Thomas Marra. Neal Wolin, formerly executive vice president and general counsel, is now president and COO of The Hartford’s property and casualty operations. He replaces David Zwiener, who has left The Hartford to become a managing director at The Carlyle Group. Other promotions include John Walters and Lizabeth Zlatkus, who have been named co-chief operating officers; Alan Kreczko, who is now executive vice president and general counsel; and Eileen Whelley, who is named successor to Ann de Raismes, outgoing head of human resources.Â
