The Hanover Insurance Group in Worcester has named Paul Condrin, a former Liberty Mutual executive vice president, to its board of directors, the Worcester company announced Monday.
Condrin’s election was effective as of Friday.
Condrin is the interim president of Bentley University in Waltham, where he also serves as chair of the board of trustees.
Outside of higher education, Condrin most recently served as executive vice president and president of commercial insurance at Liberty Mutual, a role he filled between from 2012 to his retirement in 2018, according to the announcement. In that role, he oversaw the company’s $10-billion commercial operation. He worked for the company for nearly three decades before leaving.
"Paul is a highly experienced, proven and respected industry leader with a deep understanding of our business and an impressive track record," said Cynthia Egan, chair of the board of directors at The Hanover, in a statement. "We are delighted to welcome Paul to our board.”
Condrin holds a bachelor’s degree from Bentley University.
CORRECTION: A previously version of this story incorrectly said Paul Condrin's appointment was effective on Sunday. His term went into effect on Friday.
