The philanthropic arm of Worcester-based The Hanover Insurance Group has doled out more than $100,000 to local organizations, the company announced Thursday.
The 11 grants handed out range in value from $5,000 to $20,000.
- Central Massachusetts Housing Alliance: $20,000 to help the group combat homelessness by advocating for safe, affordable housing
- Students Helping Children Across Borders: $15,000 to support the Working for Worcester Build Day event
- Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce: $10,000 to sponsor the Worcester Women’s Leadership Conference
- Massachusetts Audubon Society: $10,000 to support the Neighborhood Nature summer park program
- EcoTarium: $8,000 to support the museum’s mission of inspiring a passion for science and natureÂ
- Habitat for Humanity: $7,500 to support the Operation Playhouse project
- Worcester Regional Science Fair: $6,000 to support the science and engineering fair
- Worcester County Mechanics Association: $5,000 to support the group’s anniversary campaignÂ
- Safe Homes – The Bridge of Central Massachusetts: $5,000 to support services for LGBTQ youth
- Devereaux Massachusetts: $5,000 to help raise funds for special education treatment
- American Heart Association: $5,000 to help support CPR training and equipment for high school students
