Thank-you notes may seem like a relic of a time when people actually wrote letters, but according to the results of a survey of 150 executives, sending a thank-you note to a prospective employer after an interview could boost one’s chances of landing a job.
The survey was conducted for Accountemps, a temporary staffing service for accountants.
According to the results, 88 percent of executives said sending a thank-you note after an interview can boost a job-seeker’s chances of employment. But the same executives said less than half of all applicants send post-interview thank-you notes.
However, the survey noted that more applicants are sending thank-you notes today than five years ago.
