T&G Shifting Printing To Globe

The Worcester Telegram & Gazette will lay off 64 employees and move most of its printing operations from Millbury to the Boston Globe’s facility in Dorchester, according to an article posted on the T&G’s website this morning.

Forty-eight full-time and 16 part-time employees will lose their jobs, the paper said. The full-timers will receive severance packages.

The Telegram is owned by the New York Times Co., which is also the parent company of the Globe.

The announcement comes just four days after the Globe announced that it would begin printing and distributing its rival Hub paper, the Boston Herald.
