Texas company Escalante Golf, which fashions itself as a boutique owner and operator of golf assets, has purchased The International Golf Club in Bolton, according to a Thursday announcement from the new owner.
The International was purchased out of bankruptcy. A $10-million sale to Escalante was proposed in November, but terms of the final sale were not disclosed as of Friday morning.
Escalante is pursuing new members for the golf club for an anticipated spring reopening.
“The International is building a membership of successful leaders from diverse backgrounds that will continue for generations to come,” said David McDonald, president of Escalante Golf, in a statement.
The International property includes two golf courses and a 54-room hotel. Notably, the International’s Pines course is the longest course in the country, according to Escalante.
Previously, the club was privately owned by Daniel and Florence Weadock. Ownership filed for bankruptcy in May, with the coronavirus finally forcing a permanent closure.
Escalante did not immediately respond to a request for comment Friday morning.
