Shoppers interested in Tempur-Pedic mattresses can skip the furniture store and visit the Natick Mall to find their ideal mattress, now that a flagship retail store—the first for the company—has opened.
The company announced the opening of the 3,500 square-foot store this week. Though Tempur-Pedic mattresses will still be available in local furniture stores, customers will now be able to test mattresses and pillows in the store's 12 "microbedroom" areas, grouped by collection, according to a statement.
A retail store will allow the company to continue its focus of directly engaging with customers, said Patrice Varni, vice president of direct-to-consumer sales and marketing.
"The opening of our first store is a logical next step. We're excited to bring our products to life in a retail environment designed to provide product education, build consumer awareness, and enhance brand loyalty."
Tempur-Pedic plans to open a handful of other retail stores across the country within the next year. The company has sold products featuring its patented TEMPUR pressure-relieving material since 1992.
