Marijuana company Temescal Wellness, with a production facility in Worcester, is set to open the first of three Massachusetts dispensaries in Hudson on Friday.
The 2,700 square-foot dispensary will be the site of a ribbon cutting at 4 p.m. Thursday, and its first day of business will be on Friday beginning at 10 a.m. The dispensary will be for medical marijuana to start, but the company told WBJ earlier this month that it plans to sell recreational marijuana once companies are allowed to do so on July 1, if all necessary licenses are awarded.
To date, 10 store workers have been hired. Its Framingham and Pittsfield locations will open in the coming months.
Veterans receive 22-percent off of purchases, and patients can qualify to receive a discount through the company’s affordability program.
The company plans to hire at least 75 employees by the end of 2018 with plans to double that total by the end of 2019.
