IT professionals can expect an average salary increase of 5.3 percent in 2008, according to a recently released salary guide published by national staffing firm Robert Half Technology. High demand for application and Web development, network management and database administration are driving the jump in base compensation, according to Half. Industries that have a high demand for IT professionals in 2008 include health care, financial services and commercial construction, Half said. The survey was based on data compiled by the staffing firm’s job placement initiatives at its US offices.
