A joint venture between Hopkinton-based EMC, Cisco, VMWare and Intel has opened a customer solutions center in Marlborough that employs more than 100 workers and plans to hire about 50 more.
The Virtual Computing Environment Co., or VCE, began in November 2009 as a joint venture among the four leading technology companies. It offers customers a comprehensive IT solution incorporating products from each company.
VCE's main product is the Vblock, which is a complete IT solution for customers that includes data storage from EMC, networking capabilities from Cisco, virtualization services from VMWare, and processing power from Intel. The product is assembled for domestic customers in Franklin at EMC's headquarters.
The Marlborough customer solutions center offers meeting space for clients, as well as Vblocks on display for proof of concept and demonstrations.
VCE hosts a grand opening at 350 Campus Dr. in Marlborough today, which will include displays of championship trophies from the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and Boston Celtics.
Read tomorrow's edition of MetroWest495 Biz for more information on VCE's new Marlborough center.
