Southborough IT company Virtusa Corp. has named Santosh Thomas as its new CEO.
Thomas has more than 20 years of leadership and industry experience, most recently serving as president of global growth markets at New Jersey technology company Cognizant, where he managed a business with revenues more than $4 billion, according to a release from Virtusa.
“Virtusa has a great brand reputation, an impressive roster of strategic partners, and is well positioned for sustained growth,” Thomas said in a release.
Thomas succeeds former CEO, chairman and founder of the company, Kris Canekeratne, who announced he was leaving his position as chairman and CEO in May. Sander van‘t Noordende has already been appointed chairman of the board as Canekeratne's replacement.
Canekeratne’s announcement followed Virtusa being acquired for $2 billion by financial services firm Baring Private Equity Asia.
